Do you ever get that feeling of inferiority? I’m not talking about feeling mentally challenged or not having a high IQ. I’m talking physically. You know, the feeling you get when you’re constantly looking at all the tall, ripped, buff guys around you and seeing how much bigger they are than you. Do you have an inner lion inside of you that wants to roar, but you look like a pathetic mouse on the outside? When you go to the beach do you think twice before taking your shirt off because you’re afraid of paling in comparison to the studs around you? If you’re even a little bit like me, you said yes, yes, yes, and YES, to the above questions!
As much as I sometimes hate to admit it, I do get jealous every now and then of guys who are bigger than me. And….I’ve learned that it’s okay to feel that way, as long as you don’t do anything physically, mentally, or emotionally self-destructive. Having inner feelings of jealousy or stirrings of inferiority can be the perfect inspiration a skinny guy needs to put in the blood, sweat and tears necessary to become a BEAST! Ever since I was a kid, my body has been nothing more than a skinny twig (well, I have a butt, so I guess I’ll give myself credit for that!). My lack of size (no, no, not THAT) is what inspired me to not just hit the gym or look at my diet differently, but to also seek out some of the best supplements on the market for bulking up.
I’ve examined and continue to examine various muscle-enhancing supplements on the market. Most recently I came across a muscle-enhancing product called D-Bal. Some of you may have heard of it. Some of you may not have heard of it. Heck, some of you might even be using it and don’t even know what to think of it! Or, for my bodybuilding friends out on the internet, you might be more familiar with D-Bal’s evil cousin, DBol, which is short for the anabolic steroid Dianabol. Whatever your case may be, I’ve cooked up this D-Bal review to take an in-depth look at D-Bal, so that you can decide for yourself whether or not you want to give it a shot!
D-Bal Review – First off, what the heck is D-Bal?
D-Bal is a muscle-building supplement. It is manufactured by an online supplement company called CrazyBulk. CrazyBulk specializes mainly in products designed to build muscle and aids in building dream aesthetics (also known as getting ripped or shredded). D-Bal is one of their many products, and is actually one of their best-selling products.
D-Bal is an oral supplement. It comes with 90 capsules per container, which are designed to last 30 days. 1 serving = 3 capsules. Ideally, it’s best to take 3 capsules about 45 minutes after your work out with a glass of water. For best results, it should be taken for about 2 months consistently.
To gain the absolute maximum effect, it’s recommended to stack D-Bal with several of the other CrazyBulk supplements designed for mass gain. The term “stacking” is used widely in the world of bodybuilding and supplementation. It basically means taking multiple supplements at the same time in the hope that they will work together to get the result you want; in this case, the result is getting bigger!
Okay, but what the heck does D-Bal do?
D-Bal is truly designed to help with fast muscle gains. It produces an effect similar to the steroid Dianabol, which is also known as Methandrostenolon and various other names, which I don’t want to take the time to go into!! It enables you to LEGALLY bulk up faster.
Nitrogen is one of the essential building blocks of protein. D-Bal enhances your muscles’ ability to retain nitrogen. When your muscles retain more nitrogen, it accelerates the protein synthesis in your body. Because protein synthesis is accelerated, you’re able to build more muscle! It puts your body into a more ideal anabolic state, which is a fancy form of saying “muscle-building state.”
Alright, alright, but what the heck does D-Bal contain that helps me bulk up?
D-Bal really has 5 main ingredients: Whey Protein, L-Isoleucine, L-Valine, L-Leucine, and Tribulus Terrestris. Yeah, I know, it’s a lot of long crazy words, but I’ll try to explain this in simple terms a 5th grader could understand.
Whey Protein – First off, protein in itself, is what we call a macromolecule. It has a lot of important functions in our body, one of which is the building of muscle. Whey protein is the protein that is taken out from whey, which is a liquid created during the production of cheese. If you’re like me and have visited vitamin shops or online supplement stores, you’ve very likely seen the shelves saturated with whey protein. Whey protein is very popular in the world of supplementation because it contains a lot of Branched-Chain Amino Acids, or BCAAs for short. Amino acids are the building blocks of protein. BCAAs have been shown to greatly increase the creation of protein in the body, which means more muscles can be built. There are 3 BCAAs and D-Bal has all three of them: Isoleucine, Valine, and Leucine.
L-Isoleucine- This is a BCAA, and as mentioned earlier, helps to stimulate protein synthesis. If you’re wondering what the “L” means, it’s basically used by scientists to name certain sugars and amino acids. It’s also important to note that there are 20 amino acids and 9 out of the 20, are essential amino acids. “Essential” means that our body can’t produce them. L-Isoleucine is an essential amino acid, so it’s important that we’re either eating food or taking supplements that contain essential amino acids………if we care about building muscle that is!
L-Valine- This is another BCAA. Similar to L-Isoleucine, it helps with protein synthesis in your body.
L-Leucine- This is yet another BCAA. Similar to L-Isoleucine and L-Valine, it’s been linked to synthesis of protein in our body. And, of course, when there is protein synthesis, there tends to be muscle hypertrophy (fancy term for muscle growth).
Tribulus Terrestris – This particular ingredient is pretty interesting. It’s basically a weed-like plant that typically grows in warm, tropical regions, and even deserts. It grows in various regions spread throughout Australia, Africa, Asia, Europe, and North America. It’s widely supplemented by bodybuilders because it’s said that it helps to boost testosterone levels. Testosterone, in case you don’t know, is a steroid hormone the body produces; it serves a variety of functions, one of which is building muscle. The reason I say Tribulus Terrestris is interesting is because there isn’t really a strong scientific backing to it. There hasn’t been a controlled study that has proved or disproved it’s ability to boost testosterone.
End Notes – If You’ve Made it this Far…….
So hopefully this review made some sense to you. I really hope it added some value and will allow you to make a decision as to whether or not D-Bal is for you. At the very least, I hope you at least gained some knowledge in the world of supplementation, if nothing else.
Like any supplement I study and test out, I can’t guarantee whether or not it’s the best fit for you. I’m a strong believer in learning through experimentation. Don’t take my word or another meat-head’s word as The Muscle-Building Bible! My best advice is to go out there and try out D-Bal and other products yourself. Try it out and decide for yourself whether or not it’s the best steroid alternative around. By self-educating ourselves, we can make the world a healthier place, one bicep at a time! 🙂 (Yeah, that was cheesy…..I know)
